This year we have refreshed the design of our six best-loved Adnams beers: Ghost Ship 4.5% Pale Ale, Ghost Ship 0.5% Pale Ale, Southwold Bitter, Broadside, Dry Hopped Lager and Mosaic Pale Ale. This new vision unifies our range and gives us space to grow, shaping the look and feel of our future beers.

As well as bringing all our beers into one proud Adnams family, we wanted to reflect our wider brand. Our design agency spotted a painting hanging in The Crown Hotel, Southwold, by local artist, Vanessa Sorboen and it perfectly captured the simplicity and honesty of our home. Using her art was the perfect way to appeal to our longstanding customers and entice others to try.

Support for cask beer is key to this project. We believe there is a great opportunity in cask and we want to draw more people to the category. We were one of the first breweries to use moulded metal pump clips, so we’ve taken our time to create something new and exciting again. Our innovative cylindrical pump clips are eye-catching from every angle. Their stunning curved shape and embossing helps bring our flavoursome storytelling to life. Keg beer is also getting a boost with new tap handles and bold banded badges.

We are proud of our heritage and how we brew beer today, so we’ve developed a mark to affirm this. The Est.1872 roundel highlights the date that Adnams was founded and declares that our authentic beers are sustainably brewed. It appears on our new clips and packaging to reinforce our assurance of quality. This will give customers confidence when making a choice. In an additional nod, the Est.1872 date icon also heads up the back-of-pack story and tasting notes on our new-design bottles and cans.
