Description
Discover how we brew your favourite beers, with an Adnams Brewery Tour. Led by an experienced Tour Guide, you will be immersed in all things Adnams and given an insight into what makes our beers so special. You will get to look behind the scenes in our brewery and follow the brewing process from grain to glass. You’ll explore Southwold’s rich brewing heritage and see first-hand how we make our products today.
Each tour is followed by a tasting of various beer styles, including a selection of our best-loved brands, and any current seasonal releases or limited-edition collaboration brews available at the time of your visit. This fun and informative experience will last approximately 1.5 hours. At the end of your experience, you will receive a voucher for our Southwold store, to claim a free memento of your day.
The Brewery Tours depart from the Adnams Tours Centre, located in The Swan Courtyard, on Market Place, Southwold IP18 6EG – accessed through the archway adjacent to The Swan entrance.
This experience is suitable for those aged 18 or over.
The brewery tour involves lots of walking, steep staircases and standing for extended periods of time. If you have reduced mobility, please call the Tours Centre directly on 01502 727225 so we can provide advice.
Adnams Tours are subject to a minimum attendance policy. Should this affect your booking, we will contact you directly and will always endeavour to move you to an alternative and viable tour where possible.
We do not usually brew at weekends. If you wish to see the brewery during operational hours, we recommend a visit during the week. Weekend tours are still great fun, but the brewery is likely to be quieter.
A soft drink or low-alcohol option is available for those not drinking on the day. Please contact us if you have any specific dietary requirements.
Brewer’s Boards, enhance your tasting experience and extend your visit by choosing a Brewer’s Board option for your tour.
Familiarise yourself with new flavours, socialise with your group, and embrace the joys of pairing beer with great food.
Following the Brewery Tour, guests who have pre-booked a Brewer’s Board can head to The Swan’s Tap Room bar, where they can choose three draft beers to enjoy alongside a vegetarian or charcuterie board. The Tap Room offers a broad range of cask and keg beers, so you can revisit your favourites from the tour, or possibly try something different.
Brewer’s Boards Include:
Your choice of x3-thirds of Adnams draft beer, plus:
1: Vegetarian Brewer’s Board: A hand-picked selection of cheeses, crackers, pickles, and peppers.
2: Brewer’s Board: A special selection of charcuterie, including cured meats and locally sourced bread.
We require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice to provide the combined option of a Brewery Tour & Brewer’s Board.
IMPORTANT: Please inform the Tours Centre team of any allergies or dietary requirements within the same timeframe, 01502 727225, tours@adnams.co.uk
Useful information before attending your tour and please share with your party:

We’ve lived near Southwold for most of our lives, but didn’t know much about the work of Adnams, until today. Thanks to Sue, our lovely brewery tour guide, we can now enjoy the many and delicious ‘brews’ on offer with a much better appreciation and understanding of what goes into making them. A very informative and fun experience! Well worth giving it a go!
We were a group of 7 and we had never been to Southwold before. We had a hard time finding parking so Simon, who was at the front desk that day, took our cell phone and guided the driver to where he should park. That meant the driver would be late to the tour. Simon took the time and showed the driver everything that he had missed until he met up with our group. Thank you, Simon!!
Bev our tour guide is not only very knowledgeable about how the entire process on brewing beer she is very entertaining.
I've been on other tours with different companies and this is by far my favorite tour.
I have done several brewery tours now, and this is the best by far. Probably helped by our wonderful tour guide, Bev. There wasn't any questions she didn't know the answer to. Bev is the best tour guide!
We've just had a great and informative tour of the Adnams Brewery in Southwold, led by Bev. Really enjoyed it, thank you! Ended the tour with a very enjoyable beer tasting session, at least eight different beers including four different variants of Ghost Ship. Want a great tour? Who you gonna call? Bev.
As someone who didn't know much about brewing or cask beers in general, this was a really enjoyable and interesting tour. Paul was a fantastic guide and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Southwold!
