Forrest Estate Albarino

Forrest have been crafting wines since the late 1980's in the heart of New Zealand. The first vintage was 1990 and things have only improved since then. Renowned as one of the finest producers in Marlborough, Forrest have received a number of awards and accolades over the years and we're pretty confident they'll continue to bag awards going forward. A family run business, we feel as though the team at Forrest align with the values we hold so dear here at Adnams. More recently, Forrest decided to plant Albarino on their Southern Valleys vineyard, incidental their hottest site, which produces wines with incredible aromatic intensity and textural complexity.

Description

Forrest’s Albarino has all the traditional elements of the Spanish variety, plus that extra fruit lift of New Zealand. There’s a vibrant acidity with notes of white peach, apricots, pear, and quince, with an orange zest undertone. It’s full and textural, yet refreshing and nicely balanced, with a drying minerality on the finish. This will pair nicely with all things from the sea – we recommend enjoying with fish tacos.

How does it taste

Vibrant acidity with notes of stone fruits and pear. It’s full yet refreshing, with a drying minerality to finish.
