Nyetimber planted its first vines in 1988 in the South Downs, a trio of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Since then, plantings have extended into Sussex, Hampshire and Kent, where gentle south-facing slopes allow for the best possible exposure to the English sunshine. It is these estate-grown grapes alone that Nyetimber uses to create world-renowned sparkling wines. Indeed, the Sussex estate won its first gold medal at the International Wine and Spirit Competition for the 1992 Blanc de Blancs, and have continued to win awards since.

Description

Fine bubbles flow throughout Nyetimber’s Classic Cuvee making this a truly elegant wine. Aromas are toasty, spicy and complex (a result of extended ageing in the cellar of more than three years), and are complimented by flavours of honey, almond, pastry and baked apple. This English sparkling wine has a great combination of finesse and intensity. Pair with sushi or asparagus dishes.

How does it taste

The nose is toasty and spicy, complimenting flavours of honey, almond, pastry and baked apple. Whilst fine bubbles flow from the elegant start to the delicate, long finish.
