One of the most progressive wineries in Spain, Bodegas Príncipe de Viana was founded in 1983. 'Flying Winemakers' were brought in, such as Nick Butler to produce modern, fruit-driven wines that appealed to a younger, more fashionable international market. Bodega Principe de Viana today controls over 1400 hectares of vines in the Ribera Baja area of Navarra and a new bodega was completed in 2004. Great care is taken over vineyard management and respect for the environment.
