In the foggy past, patrons of The Bell Inn, our 600-year-old pub in the neighbouring village of Walberswick, told tall tales of ghostly ships that haunted the shore. The seeds of those stories were likely sown by smugglers in a plot to keep the coast clear, but they went on to inspire our best-selling brew. Back in 2010, our brewers spent an evening enjoying Walberswick's pubs with visiting brewers from American, who raved about a new US hop variety called Citra. We decided to try it at the next opportunity and built Ghost Ship 4.5% Pale Ale's recipe around it. It truly is a beer born of fireside conversations and stories told in pubs along the Suffolk coast.

How does it taste

Ghost Ship 4.5% Pale Ale is brewed with Pale Ale, Rye Crystal and Cara Malts which add depth and moreish, biscuity hints. A blend of Citra and American and UK hop varieties provide Ghost Ship's bold citrus flavours of lemon and lime, aromatic elderflower notes, and that wonderful hoppy finish.

Great choice!

It was my Uncles 90th birthday, he loves beer, so i sent him a present of Ghost Ship Ale, he absolutely loved it. He can’t get out much now and living some distance away, we don’t see that much of each other. I’ll definitely be doing this again, thank you Adnams 10/10
