Ripe wild fruit, delicate notes of spice

Ripe wild fruit, delicate notes of spice

The fifth consecutive declared vintage for Quinta do Crasto, the 2018 vintage was another exceptional year. Following a complicated growing season, August was hot and dry and supported outstanding grape ripeness. Cold nights and hot, dry September days allowed late-ripening grape varieties such as Touriga Franca to reach excellent levels of ripeness. Overall, a fantastic year, showing fantastic ageing opportunity. Dating back to 1615, Quinta do Crasto is one of the most spectacularly situated properties in the Douro, and among the first to break out on its own. Owned and run by the Roquette family, Crasto has quickly established a worldwide reputation for the quality of both its Port and its red wines. Marrying tradition with the state-of-the-art technologies, Quinta do Crasto still uses the foot-treading method in old granite Lagares.
