Mosaic, Indaba, Western Cape

Mosaic, Indaba, Western Cape

Situated in South Africa’s Winelands, Indaba (pronounced in-dah-bah) is a word that has widespread use throughout South Africa and means to come together. Winemaking begins in the vineyard with Indaba’s award-winning duo, Bruwer Raats and Clayton Christians, who are committed to sustainable winemaking. The estate works with conscientious farmers, in prime appellations, who have perfected the art of grape growing over generations and strive to continuously improve critical conservation practices.

Description

This juicy Bordeaux blend exhibits enticing aromas and flavours of blackcurrant, ripe bramble fruits, and dark chocolate with subtle spice notes. There is minimal oak ageing here, retaining the wine’s great acidity and freshness. But, interestingly, approximately 15% of the blend is older (from the 2018 vintage) and was aged in French oak for 12 months. This provides soft, gentle tannins which coat the mouth. A great match with lamb served with greens and peas, or with hard cheeses such as Comté.

How does it taste

Aromas and fresh flavours of blackcurrant, ripe bramble fruits, and dark chocolate with subtle spice notes. Soft, gentle tannins coat the mouth.
