A beautiful illustration of Angludet

A beautiful illustration of Angludet

Located on the left bank of the Gironde, in Margaux, is Château Angludet. The estate was purchased by wine merchants Peter and Diana Sichel in 1961 and has remained in the family since. Today, their son Benjamin manages Château Angludet along with his siblings. In the early 2000s, Ben decided to follow biodynamic practices in the vineyard and has since dedicated his time to creating a healthy environment throughout Angludet’s 30 hectares of vines. Respect to the grapes continues in the winery, where, since 2019, amphora is used as part of the maturation process, helping to retain the purity of the grapes.

Description

The 2019 is a beautiful illustration of the Angludet style: generous and elegant. Cassis and red cherry fruit is vibrant on both the nose and palate, complemented by baked plums, hints of pencil shavings, baking spices, and delicate violet flowers. It’s medium-bodied with plush tannins that coat the mouth, balanced by a seamless freshness and spicy finish. Pair with côte de boeuf for the ultimate indulgence.

How does it taste

Vibrant and energetic with notes of red and black fruits, spice, and a floral character. An impressive Bordeaux that’s drinking well now.
