Crafted by dynamic vinegrower-winemaker – Hugo Thevenet – who works in partnership with his father on their small estate in Beaujolais. Nephew of the legendary, Jean-Paul Thevenet, this fifth generation domaine produces wines with total respect to the environment, and the legacy of winemaking in the Thevenet family.

Description

For over a century, the Domaine du Petit Pérou located in Villié-Morgon, in the Beaujolais wine-growing region has grown from three to eighteen hectares of vines, while maintaining the traditional growing methods handed down from father to son over five generations. The name “Domaine du Petit Pérou” comes from the name of the hamlet “le Pérou”, in Morgon, where part of the vineyard is located.

How does it taste

Fresh and juicy lemon the palate, with subtle minerality. Aged in old oak for 5 months which adds subtle oaky complexity, whilst retaining the aromatic complexity. This cuvée comes from Terrain Rouge, with its limestone clay soil and a subsoil composed of deep schistose, it is one of the best terroirs for the development of a Chardonnay in the Beaujolais region.
