Classic amber beer

Classic amber beer

The brewing team developed Lighthouse from the pages of Adnams coveted brewing books and use our original Champion Pale Ale recipe as its foundation. It has then been given a modern twist, using new English hops from Charles Faram's breeding programme. Southwold’s Lighthouse is a listed building and can be seen from the brewery window, and up to 18 nautical miles at sea. We even run tours on behalf of Trinity House. The concentric circles on the branding represent its light.

Description

Light by name and light by nature at 3.4%, Lighthouse is a refreshing and approachable pale ale. It was inspired by our original Champion Pale Ale recipe and then given a modern twist. It is therefore brimming with all the characteristics you would expect to find in an authentic English pale ale, with a refreshing hint of the new.

How does it taste

We use lots of caramel malts, which gives Lighthouse its toffee and biscuity flavours. The hops add lemon and grapefruit flavours, with underlying noble, spicy and herbal notes. There are also light hints red apple from Adnams house yeast. Lighthouse pairs well with light lunches and its citrussy notes cut through when paired with Fish & Chips and pizza.
