Our Mini Kegs have got a new look, Join alfie as he teaches us how to enjoy a pint from your next mini keg.

PURCHASING YOUR MINI KEG

Your mini keg holds 5 litres of beer. That’s 8 lovely pints to enjoy at home. When purchasing your mini keg, keep in mind that we put a six-month shelf life on them. Check the date before storing it away. Take care of your mini keg when transporting it home. It may look sturdy, but it can still sustain damage. Please make sure it doesn’t get knocked around.

HOW TO STORE YOUR MINI KEG

Store your mini keg in a cool, dark place. If you are lucky enough to have your own beer cellar, that’s fantastic. If not, then keep it in a cupboard situated away from any heat sources like hot water pipes or your boiler. Somewhere cool like the garage would also work well. Do not store it in direct sunlight. If your mini keg has been stored somewhere cold, it might be ready use. If not, it will need cooling before you can enjoy it. If you can, we recommend keeping it at your preferred serving temperature for 24 hours prior to use. You can maintain its temperature during serving with the use of an icepack, ice blanket or neoprene mini keg jacket.

SETTING UP

Decide where you are going to serve your mini keg. You need to make sure it isn’t going to warm up too quickly and that the area is steady and flat. You are also going to need to fit a glass underneath the tap once it is extended. Keep a bar towel or tea towel handy, just in case.

HOW TO VENT AND TAP YOUR MINI KEG

The video below should help you learn how to vent and tap your mini keg ready for you to enjoy.

AFTER POURING

When you have finished pouring, don’t forget to close the vent to maintain the pressure in your keg and keep the life in your beer. Don’t push the tap back in unless you are storing your keg away.
