Double Ghost is packed full of thunderous flavour, following double dry hopping with Citra, Centennial and Chinook. This additional cargo of hops not only creates complexity in this expression, but also adds further nuance to its flavour. It’s a reckoning for your taste buds.

Its stormy artwork by artist, Vanessa Sorboen is a nod to the tales of ill-fated ships stranded during storms on the shoals and the sandbanks of the Sole Bay. It is the resting place of hundreds of shipwrecks and unsurprisingly the source of many a ghost story.

“Upfront, there is a massive splash of pine and Ghost Ship’s character spiciness from the use of rye and Adnams house yeast. The palate opens up into mango, guava and pineapple and some of the Citra character starts to shine, adding orange and red berries. Overall, it’s well-balanced with a pleasant bitterness, and our local barley produces good body which carries the hops.”

Double Ghost IPA is the latest addition to our Ghost Ship fleet, alongside our best-selling beers Ghost Ship 4.5% Pale Ale and Ghost Ship 0.5% Pale Ale.

We had a couple of session and strong IPAs in our beers range, but there was space for a bold IPA that would complement the existing styles in the Ghost Ship family and add a new chapter to a legend that already resonates.

We’ve now amassed a whole fleet of vessels, to guarantee there’s a Ghost Ship for every occasion and palate – from our thunderous IPA, through to our original, sessionable pale ale, and a great-tasting low-alcohol brew to enjoy whenever and wherever the moment finds you.
