Situated in Margaux, Château Giscours was named a third Grand Cru Classé estate in 1855 and has continued to prove its excellence since. More than half of the vineyards are managed following organic practices, a proportion that is increasing every year, whilst they constantly strive to promote biodiversity in the vineyards. Such care and attention to detail is undertaken in the winery too, resulting in wines that are rich and aromatic, with big personalities that express the terroir of the Margaux appellation.

Description

Le Haut-Medoc de Giscours is the third wine of the estate, having been created since 1992. A blend of Bordeaux’s two main grape varieties, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine is a great expression of the Haut-Médoc terroir. The 2019 vintage of Haut-Medoc de Giscours has a heady perfume of ripe blackberry, blackcurrant and raspberry. There is a spiciness on the palate of sweet vanilla and cloves, with smooth rounded tannins, both a result of 12 months ageing in French oak barrels. The 2019s from Bordeaux are drinking beautifully now and this is not a producer to miss. Pair with roast beef to elevate your Sunday lunch.
