Citrus Seasonal

Adnams Sea Buckthorn and Orange Gin is made from grain to glass using a distillery wash of 100% East Anglian malted barley. This wash is distilled to a vodka with exceptional purity at 96% abv. We then redistil this vodka with six botanicals including juniper berries, orris root, coriander seeds, cardamom pods and sweet orange peel. We also add sea buckthorn to create this gloriously zesty gin. Sea buckthorn grows wild all along the sandy east coast of Britain and can be found amongst the dunes at Holkham in North Norfolk. The berries on this hardy, salt-tolerant plant are small, but when crushed they release amazingly intense tropical fruit aromas.

    Fresh, zingy but dry nonetheless, with the only sweetness coming in the form of citrus and tropical fruit flavours (orange, mango, pineapple). Garnish with a fresh orange slice.

    This gin is satisfyingly smooth and has an interesting complexity. Sea Buckthorn (a berry that grows wild along the eastern coast of Britain) leads in flavour, lending intensely fruity, slightly tropical notes. That's balanced out by the zestiness, subtle bitterness and gentle sweetness of the orange peel.

    With a Jaffa Cake-esque appeal backed up with classic juniper, this seasonal spirit from the Suffolk coast contains tropical-tasting sea buckthorn. Cardamom, coriander and orris root adds spicy depth, and our testers were happiest with this served in a G&T with a large slice of orange.
