Synergy Cape Blend 2021, Beyerskloof, Stellenbosch

Since establishing itself in 1988, Beyerskloof has become synonymous with South Africa’s heritage varietal, Pinotage. The first vineyard, located in Stellenbosch, was planted in the same year by owner Beyers Truter. Since then, Beyerskloof has acquired several other vineyards within the region, and has won many awards for their Pinotage wines. Today, Winemaker Anri Truter continues to build on the legacy of his father, Beyers.

Description

A blend of Pinotage, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine perfectly blends the styles of both Old and New World wines. Aromas of fresh dark fruits fill the glass, with a pronounced cassis flavour on the palate. Pinotage grapes give a spicy note to the wine, whilst 12 months ageing in French oak provides soft, rounded tannins. With fresh acidity, a smooth finish, and four years bottle age, Synergy Cape Blend is drinking beautifully now. Enjoy with barbequed meats.

How does it taste

Fresh dark fruits fill the glass, with a pronounced cassis flavour on the palate, complimented with oak and sweet spice notes. Soft, rounded tannins and a smooth finish.
