Based in the 'chocolate box' pretty village of Riquewihr in the heart of Alsace, Dopff & Irion has a long history dating back to the 16th century when the two families came together. When René Dopff became head of the firm in 1945 he dropped the old winemaking techniques and the traditional, illegible gothic script on the labels and set the tone for the forward looking company that exists to this day.
