Situated in western Romania just to the east of the town of Timisoara Cramele Recas is a very impressive new winery on an old site. In the last 10 years, both the vineyard and winery have been completely, and exhaustively modernised in order to be able to fully control the production process using the latest methods. The winery has been fully fitted out with stainless steel , automatic temperature controlled tanks for fermenting and storing the wine. The primary vinification facility has been completely renewed with the best possible equipment for gently crushing, destemming, pressing the grapes- in order to be able to maintain all the quality in the grapes.

A really great Pinot Noir for the price

I was surprised to see an inexpensive Romanian Pinot on the wine list of a very classy hotel / restaurant a couple of weeks ago, but the wine waiter assured my that it was good so I gave it a try. Our whole party thought it was very nice, so a few days later I went on the web and having found the best price on offer was Adnams I ordered a case. We have already drunk a couple of bottles and were not disappointed, so do not be put off by it coming from Romania and not costing too much, give it a try.
