For the earth

For the earth

Bodem Bodegas is a personal project of Louis Geirnaerdt and Eugenie Van Ekeris that was established recently in 2016. Their motto is: We don't do things for the past. We do things with the future in mind. By and for the earth. Located in the heart of the Sierra de Algairén, a mountain range in Aragon, northern Spain, are over 100 hectares of vines. Just 7 hectares are owned by Bodem Bodegas, with the remaining vineyards managed by local winemakers in collaboration with the winery. Sustainability is central to everything here, from reduce water management and use to renewable energy to organic practices followed in the vineyard and the promotion of biodiversity.
For the earth

Description

From its bold purple colour to aromas and flavours of red berries with a hint of black fruits, to its rounded body, this is Garnacha (also known as Grenache) at its best. Notes of cherry, raspberry, and plum burst from the wine and are complemented by a subtle spice, the result of 3 months ageing on lees. The wine is both soft and bold, balanced by great acidity, making it ideal for drinking before a meal or with a selection of tapas dishes.

How does it taste

This is full of cherry and red berry notes. Medium-bodied with soft tannins and a fresh acidity, it is delightful with or without food.
