It's our annual call for wild hops!

Every year, we make a call out for everyone to look for wild hops growing in hedgerows or in gardens to help make our annual Wild Hop beer.

The hops are picked from across our region and then brought to Southwold where our brewing team collect them together and create a special amber beer. We never know what hop varieties we'll receive from our local community, which makes every brew unique every year.

If you've never taken part before, we'd love you to join in! Due to the hot summer, we're getting reports that some hops are ripe now, and others still have a way to go, so we're anticipating a staggered harvest.

Wild Hop Drop Off

We will be collecting these hops at our Southwold shop from the 4th September until the 21st September between 9 am and 10 am. Unfortunately, due to the current pandemic we will not be accepting any hop drop-offs out of these times.

When your hops are ripe, please pick the hop cones off the bine. To keep hops fresh until you can drop them off at our Southwold Store we recommend popping them in the freezer. We ask that all hops are packed securely for easy drop-off. Don’t forget your face covering to enter our store. Our team will also ask for your name and contact details so we can be in touch about the brew later in the year.

Happy picking!
