Our first collaboration of 2025 is Ghost Faith, brewed with our friends at Northern Monk. It’s a juicy, citrus, and tropical fruit-flavoured Hazy IPA. This is a true mash-up of Adnams and Northern Monk’s best-known brews, Ghost Ship and Faith. - trust us when we say this one’s for the believers!

Whether you believe in Ghost Ships, or turn to Faith, this convergence of both brewery’s flagship beers will leave you in no doubt of the presence of Citra. With similar hop profiles at their core, we’ve merged our grists and added Ghost Ship’s spicy rye and Faith’s wheat and oats to our Pale Ale malt. Fermented with Northern Monk’s London Fog and Adnams’ House Yeast, it is a true mash up in every sense of the word.

Northern Monk is an independent brewery based in Leeds, focused on creating the best beer experiences in the world, with creativity, community and collaboration at their core. From a fortuitous meeting at Leeds International Beer Festival to their humble beginnings in cellar up north, they continue to build on their strong northern roots and love of British beer culture.

We have collaborated with them before, on a spruced Pale Ale called Sprucy Banger (made with spruce tips from the Holkham Estate) and their canned Export Porter, Stars Hide Your Fires, which was part of their Patron Series and featured labels by graphic designer and illustrator Jon Simmons. We’ve always believed that idea that a blend of Ghost Ship and Faith would taste great and are thrilled to have actually brewed it – the results have confirmed that belief!

Faith’s wheat and oats bring the freshness and haze, while Ghost Ship’s spicy rye gives it balance. Both recipes celebrate Citra, which together with Mosaic and a blend of our brewery yeasts, elicits citrus and tropical fruit flavours. You will find those big fruity notes on both the nose and the palate, with a well-balanced bitterness to malt sweetness.

“It’s a dream to be doing a mash-up of Ghost Ship and Faith. We’re sort of rye-led on our malts, but the hop profiles of both beers are very similar, plus a bit like our friends, our brewery wouldn’t be the same without Citra,” said Dan, our head brewer.

Brian Dickson, founder & head brewer at Northern Monk agrees: “It’s been a long time coming. We’ve taken Faith, which is our hazy pale with a lot of wheat and oats in there and mashed it with Ghost Ship. There’s lots of that irreplaceable Citra in there. It will have a nice hazy, smooth mouthfeel, with a bit of that characteristic spice of Ghost Ship. For Faith we look for that tropical character in Citra.

“After a few years of trying to hunt out the most extreme Citra, I like that we’ve really come around to appreciating that really good consistent balance - you know, because we want Faith to taste the same every time.”

“The result is a nice 4.2% easy, pale ale with plenty of malt warmth, plenty of spice and plenty of tropical fruit.”

Ghost Faith is suitable for vegans and like Faith, it will pour slightly hazy. It is available in 440ml cans online and in-store from Adnams and on keg in Mitchells & Butlers’ pubs exclusively until the end of April, before any remaining stock reaches other pubs and venues.
