Nominate your Community Hero!

On the 23rd March the announcement was made that the UK was to be on lockdown and we all faced a new way of living and working. But with the challenges it brought, it also showed us how fantastic people really can be in uncertain times. With this in mind, we would like to hear who in this time has been your Community Hero and why. They could be your local supermarket cashier, a local retailer, teacher, carer, key worker, or simply a neighbour. We’ll select three of your Community Heroes and reward them with a stay at The Swan, Southwold, The White Horse, Blakeney or The Cross Keys, Aldeburgh, once they have re-opened later this year. We’ll also reward another twenty nominees with their favourite Adnams tipple to say thank you.

Simply email your nominations to communityhero@adnams.co.uk, explaining in no more than 100 words what they’ve been up to and why they deserve to be rewarded! We can’t wait to read your stories.

Terms and Conditions

Competition terms of entry:

  1. The promoter is: Adnams PLC. Registered office: Sole Bay Brewery, Southwold, Suffolk, IP18 6JW

  2. To enter the giveaway, you must be a UK resident and aged 18 or over at the time of entry

  3. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this giveaway

  4. The giveaway is not open to Adnams employees nor their family members

  5. To enter the giveaway, you must email your nomination to communityhero@adnams.co.uk - with the reason they should be awarded a community hero

  6. By accepting an Adnams Hero award, both the nominee and award winner are also providing permission for their story and names to be used on the Adnams.co.uk Blog, on their social media channels and in their PR communications.

  7. The giveaway runs from 6.30pm 28/04/2020 to 6.30pm 19/05/2020

  8. Community Heroes will be chosen by a panel of Adnams employees

  9. Only one entry is permitted per person. Multiple entrants may not share the same email address

  10. Heroes will be notified within 14 days of the giveaway closing by email

  11. First giveaway item is a stay at the Swan Southwold for 2 people, second giveaway is a stay at the White Horse Blakeney for 2 people and third giveaway is a stay at the Cross Keys, Aldeburgh for 2 people. T&Cs apply please see section A

  12. 20 other items will be given away at a minimum retail value of £9.99

  13. No cash alternative available and all prizes are subject to availability

  14. If the Community Hero cannot be contacted or does not claim the prizes within 7 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the item and select a new recipient

  15. The judge’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into

  16. Adnams reserves the right to change/withdraw the competition and these terms and conditions of this competition at any time

Section A:

Stay at The Swan Southwold is for 2 people (sharing a twin or double room), for a single night stay and is subject to availability. Prize includes breakfast and a £40 food allowance per adult for dinner, to be used in The Still Room Restaurant on the evening of the stay. If the winner chooses to spend more than this allowance, the difference will be settled directly with the restaurant. Beverages will be charged upon consumption. Travel is not included. Available dates exclude bank holidays, Christmas or New Year season (16th Dec 2020 - 5th Jan 2021) and Valentines (Fri 14th - Sun 16th Feb 2021). Once The Swan is taking bookings they shall contact the prize winner to arrange the booking. The booking must be made within a year from when The Swan is re-open for stays.

Stay at The White Horse Blakeney is for 2 people (sharing a twin or double room), for a single night stay and is subject to availability. Prize includes breakfast and a £30 food allowance per adult for dinner, to be used in the restaurant on the evening of the stay. If the winner chooses to spend more than this allowance, the difference will be settled directly with the restaurant. Beverages will be charged upon consumption. Travel is not included. Available dates exclude bank holidays, Christmas or New Year season (16th Dec 2020 - 5th Jan 2021) and Valentines (Fri 14th - Sun 16th Feb 2021). Once The White Horse is taking bookings they shall contact the prize winner to arrange the booking. The booking must be made within a year from when The White Horse is re-open for stays.

Stay at The Cross Keys Aldeburgh is for 2 people (sharing a double room), for a single night stay and is subject to availability. Prize includes breakfast and a £25 food allowance per adult for dinner, to be used in the pub on the evening of the stay. If the winner chooses to spend more than this allowance, the difference will be settled directly with the restaurant. Beverages will be charged upon consumption. Travel is not included. Available dates exclude bank holidays, Christmas or New Year season (16th Dec 2020 - 5th Jan 2021) and Valentines (Fri 14th - Sun 16th Feb 2021). Once The Cross Keys is taking bookings they shall contact the prize winner to arrange the booking. The booking must be made within a year from when The Cross Keys is re-open for stays.
