Introducing Ghost Ship Session IPA, a spirited addition to the Ghost Ship fleet. Launching in 500ml bottles from mid-September, it will be supported by a limited run of cask, which is sailing out from the brewery in advance of Cask Ale Week.

This latest manifestation of our flagship beer brand has a fresh North Sea breeze in its sails and is brewed to provide those refreshing lemon and lime Ghost Ship characteristics that first captivated drinkers - but at an approachable 3.4% abv.

“We wanted to brew a fresh, crushable, citrusy IPA at and have used a blend of UK and US hops to achieve this, said our head brewer, Dan Gooderham. “We’ve used oats and torrified wheat in the mash bill, which will give this lighter IPA good backbone and mouthfeel,” he added.

In true Ghost Ship style, the oats, wheat and moreish malts draw you in, then citrus notes of lime, orange, and lemongrass hold you captive.

As with all Ghost Ship brews, it’s inspired by tall tales shared in pubs along the Suffolk coast and the approachability of this latest arrival means that you’re destined to return for another.

Ghost Ship began life as a seasonal cask beer, and it was in that format that it first won hearts. In fact, it first sailed down the racking line on 15th September – just ahead of Cask Ale Week, back in 2010. This year, our new Ghost Ship brew will also be making its presence known during that event, which takes place from September 18th to the 28th. A fitting nod to the beer that started it all.
