Are you ready for something wildly different? We’ve created a brand new cider made with 100% English apples.
With a bold design inspired by the refreshing Suffolk coastline, Wild Wave is a delicious blend of bittersweet and dessert apples grown in the foothills of the Malvern Hills.
Master Brewer Fergus Fitzgerald and Master of Wine James Davis came up with the idea for Wild Wave while taking a walk on Southwold beach. Their vision was to create a premium cider made entirely from English apples with a taste so fresh and fruity it would feel like a refreshing splash in the face. Fermented with champagne and wine yeasts, Wild Wave is a bright, sparkling cider at 5% abv with flavours and aromas of fresh apples, mango and tropical fruit, elegantly balanced with a medium-dry finish. Serve at North Sea temperatures.
Fergus explains: “We’ve been brewing beer for years, and more recently, making spirits, and for decades we’ve worked closely with wine producers from around the world, but we’ve never ventured into cider before. Making cider is more of a winemaking process than it is a brewing process so I worked with James and a cidermaker in Gloucestershire with a state-of-the-art cider making facility, to create our own unique blend for Wild Wave. We’ve aimed to get the mix of bittersweet and dessert apples right, so there’s a bit more tannin than you might find in some ciders and I think that really works.”
Wild Wave cider is available now in 330ml cans and 5ltr mini kegs online, in Adnams stores and in selected pubs and outlets.
It's free from artificial sweeteners and is suitable for vegans. Watch Fergus and James chat about Wild Wave here.
