FAQ

A selection of our Frequently Asked Questions

How many Adnams pubs are there and where are they?

We have 45 managed inns and tied properties that all serve delicious Adnams beers, wines and spirits. You can find more about our pubs and properties here.

Do you own your own vineyards?

It would be wonderful, but unfortunately, we don’t. At Adnams, we like to work with great wine producers, and vineyard owners who make the best wines for their region and grape varieties. Our Wine Buyer, Lydia Harrowven, works closely with the vineyards so that all Adnams labelled wines fit perfectly with our sustainability values.

Do you grow your own ingredients for your beer?

Jonathan Adnams grows several fields of rye that we use for crafting our spirits and brewing our beers. We buy a lot of malted barley from local farmers, including Holkham Estate in North Norfolk.

Some of the best grain in the world is grown in East Anglia so we would be mad not to stay local. We have been working with local grain growers on the Holkham Estate for nearly 10 years to sustainably grow the grains used in our beers and spirits, and we are proud to continue this relationship for many more years to come.

Can you call an Adnams store and place an order?

If you wish to place an order with your local store, just give them a call. They will process orders up to £250. Did you know that many of our stores also deliver locally? Find more information here.

Are there special discounts for large orders?

We don’t offer discounts on large orders; however, we do run some fantastic multi-buy offers on our website and we do have special offers running in our stores from time to time. Give us a call to find out more on 01502 727246

Do you cater for Weddings or large events?

Our stores can cater for your wedding needs, just pop in and chat with your local store manager. Find your nearest store here.

What is your most popular product?

We stock a large variety of products in our stores, in pubs, and online. Out of these our Ghost Ship beers, both the 4.5% and 0.5% versions, are our most popular. For our spirits, everyone’s favourite seems to be our Copper House Dry Gin, followed by our Copper House Pink Gin, which has a refreshing hit of raspberry. What’s your favourite? Let us know by commenting on Twitter or Facebook.

What does ‘Jack Brand’ mean?

The 'Jack Brand,' or 'Southwold Jack,' is Adnams oldest trademark and the design you see on our Jack Brand beers was inspired by some old, refillable 'Jack Brand' bottles found in our cellars. We loved their simplicity. Southwold Jack is a ‘clock Jack’ who lives in St Edmunds Church, in our hometown. A replica of him stands guard on the brewery wall and he even graced our company logo in the past, giving us a sense of place. Our Jack Brand beers give a firm nod to many years of Adnams brewing heritage, at the same time as introducing modern styles, flavours, and recipes.

Do you have seasonal beers and why?

We brew a selection of seasonal beers throughout the year, some in collaboration with other breweries. We do this to add variety to our permanent offering and to celebrate certain seasons including the festive period.

Why do you produce products for Marks and Spencer’s which can’t be purchased anywhere else?

We produce a range of products exclusively for Marks and
Spencer, including a range that utilises leftover bread which they would have otherwise discarded. These products can only be purchased in Marks and Spencer stores, and online via their website.

Will you be looking at renewable energy for your transport?

We are always looking at ways to minimise our impact on the environment and our carbon footprint. We have already lowered our carbon emissions by running electric vans and adapting some of our lorries to run off bio gas rather than traditional fuel. Do you send your beer mats, posters, labels, and bottle caps to members of the public?

We are unable to send out labels and bottles caps to individual collectors as these items are not held in stock in Southwold, as we do not bottle on site. Reduced stocks and direct distribution of promotional items means we are temporarily unable to respond to individual requests, but we hope to be able to resume this practice as soon as we can.

Other than your website, where else can I buy Adnams products?

We send our recognised and well-loved products all around the UK, and even pack them off around the world. Our busy UK and International network of suppliers means you are never far from your favourites. Adnams products can be found in a host of national supermarkets, independent outlets, and hospitality venues. If you have trouble finding us, email customer.services@adnams.co.uk with your enquiry and we will try our best to help you.
