Adnams x Five Points Collaboration Distant Fields Cans

Adnams x Five Points Collaboration Distant Fields Cans

Although Adnams is coastal and Five Points are based in the city, we are connected by the land and the ingredients we use. Brewing a landbier therefore felt appropriate. A genuinely communal brew, the title 'landbier,' doesn’t necessarily define a style, but has come to represent a line of beer from German breweries that celebrate locality and culture. The literal translation means ‘country beer,’ and the thinking behind brewing one, was to celebrate harvesttime and our local ingredients.
Adnams x Five Points Collaboration Distant Fields Cans

Description

In collaboration with our friends at Five Points, we've brewed a landbier - a nod to locality and harvest-time culture. Fuggles, Admiral and Bullion hops add red-berried fruit flavours and bright touches of citrus. This is balanced by toasted notes, light spice and wisps of charred malt, as city meets coast across Distant Fields. With Adnams in Suffolk and Five Points, from Hackney in London, we could feel far apart, but we remain connected by a mutual love of the land and pride in our common ingredients.

How does it taste

This celebration of land and harvest offers initial toast and bready notes on the nose, followed by red berries. The taste is full and round, and those red berries and redcurrants become more pronounced. The bitterness is soft and smooth, and a touch of citrus lemon balances the spice and charred maltiness.

Great addition to Adnams Beer Portfolio

The Distant fields beer is smooth and tasty with herbal notes. I'm enjoying drinking it. Only gave 4 stars instead of 5 as I wouldn't want Adnams to be complacent in introducing even better beers.
