Smooth and rich

Distilled in the heart of Southwold, Adnams Rye Hill Vodka is made from rye grown by our Chairman, Jonathan Adnams, at his farm in Reydon, just one mile from our distillery. Rye has been grown here for centuries. The village name derives from the Old English words for rye (rey) and hill (dun). Rye Hill’s mash bill is 75% rye and 25% East Anglian malted barley. The grains are sent through our brewery, just like one of our beers; but we don’t add hops and instead produce a ‘distillery wash.’ This wash is fermented with Adnams house yeast to around 6% abv, before being sent to the distillery . Our small batch distillation uses authentic copper stills to produce an exceptional spirit with a remarkable depth of flavour. We do not filter this spirit as this means we can retain and hold the intricate flavours of this unique vodka. We are one of only a handful of distilleries in the UK that is able to produce vodka-quality spirits in this manner.
