Cantina Di Negrar Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG

Cantina Di Negrar Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG

Since 1933, Cantina Valpolicella Negrar has told the story of men and women devoted to the crafting of quality wines: the finest, sincerest expression of a region home to more than 700 hectares of vineyards. Located in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica zone on dry terraces in the hills from Negrar at an altitude between 150 and 350 metres above sea level. The vineyards are southeast facing and made up of varied soil types: silt-clay, partly calcareous and partly on Eocene marls.

Description

A lighter style of Amarone with dried peppers and redcurrants. Lightly tannic, with attractive red fruit. Grapes are gently dried "appassimento" for 100/120 days to concentrate the colour, aroma and flavours. Wine is aged for 18 months in oak, followed by a further 6 months bottle ageing. A fine companion for all grilled, braised and game meat. Perfect with aged cheese.

How does it taste

Ruby red, dense and compact, with a highly perfumed nose. Fruity with hints of cherries and dried prunes, dried flowers and sweetly spiced. This is full bodied with a deliciously smooth mouthfeel and velvety tannins.
