New England I.P.A

New England I.P.A

Our New England IPA is part of our Jack Brand range of beers. They give a firm nod to many years of Adnams brewing heritage, at the same time as introducing modern styles, flavours, and recipes. The 'Jack Brand,' or 'Southwold Jack,' is Adnams oldest trademark. The design is inspired by some old, refillable 'Jack Brand' bottles found in our cellars. They were hand-crafted and simple and it was this honesty and simplicity we wanted to reflect in the range.

  • The Independent

"This hazy, golden beauty dances between tropical fruits, bitter pine, smoky sweetness and an almost marine tang" our tester said, adding that "it pours on the frothy side, with fine, smooth bubbles that never veer towards gassy, and manages to balance a complex and unusual array of flavours".

Description

New England IPAs have a very gentle bitterness and are brewed with citrus and tropical fruit flavoured hop varieties, making them deliciously juicy but never astringent. Our take on the style forms part of our Jack Brand range. These beers give a firm nod to many years of Adnams brewing heritage, at the same time as introducing modern styles, flavours, and recipes. New England IPAs or NEIPAs tend to be hazy, as hops are added at every available opportunity in the process, so all their lovely flavour is retained in the finished beer. It is a big one, at 6% abv, and is fermented with a dedicated Vermont yeast strain to amplify those juicy, fruity flavours.

How does it taste

Our delicious New England IPA is golden and hazy, with a gentle bitterness. It is dry-hopped at every opportunity and therefore packed with juicy orange flavours, tropical fruit, and vibrant notes of resinous pine.

Excellent 6% IPA

I grew up with revolting weak canned beer so have a bit of an aversion to it. If you are the same…. Ditch it and buy a case of this. Superb sharp citrus flavours and delicate but assured bitter finish. I will be buying more.

Great Pale Ale

Now my go to pale ale. Great tasting beer. Was a little wary with strength at 6% as I thought it might be a bit overpowering but I was pleasantly surprised. Don’t hesitate to try it.
