The Ghost Trees of Easton Wood
Suffolk’s Easton Wood is toppling on to the beach. A stand of dead trees line the tops of the cliffs, and all too regularly they fall on to the beach creating wonderful shapes, colours and textures.
Wave eroded stump
The sea takes no prisoners
These two trees look like fallen chess pieces; white and black
The larger tree trunks, long stripped from bark, provide great places to sit, enjoy a hot cup of tea, and admire the view.
Great shapes and patterns
A closer look at the concentric rings
Knotted tree, almost looks like rock. Now a good home for algae.
It's probably a matter of months before this tree is claimed by the sea
The ghost trees of Easton Woooooood... (said in a scary voice)
