Passion & Sustainability
Adnams have been brewing fine ales at the Sole Bay Brewery, Southwold since 1872. Renowned for its cask conditioned ales and bottled beers, Adnams can be found widely in East Anglia and further afield.
A passion for quality & innovation pervades the Adnams brewing heritage – many awards & medals have been won since the company was first founded.
A modern, world-class brewery, highest quality local raw materials and a splash of innovation are combined to produce great beers such as Broadside, Explorer, Lighthouse and many more.
This same passion for only producing the very best quality product is now applied to our spirits distilled in the Copper House Distillery.
In recent years Adnams has won acclaim as a leading company in the area of sustainability and carbon reduction.
Our new brewery is one of the most energy efficient in the UK with its steam capture and energy storage system. A new Distribution Centre outside Southwold was built to the highest standards, using sustainable materials, and includes one of the largest “green roofs” in the UK.
In the Autumn of 2010, we brought online our Anaerobic Bio Digester that converts brewery and distillery waste to “green methane gas” to power production of our beer and spirits. This plant is the first in the UK to produce bio gas from organic waste and return the gas into the national gas network.
