The Swan Hotel wins Small Hotel of the Year
In their summary, the judges enthusiastically described The Swan as “a classic seaside hotel situated on the Suffolk Heritage Coast, with a relaxing ambiance, delicious food and a serious wine list.” The hotel has 42 unique bedrooms, which are all beautifully furnished, while the bar is the perfect place to catch up with local gossip over a pint of Adnams.
Francis Guildea, General Manager of Adnams’ Hotels, is thrilled with the award. He commented, “We are delighted, especially off the back of our recent success at the Suffolk Tourism Awards. Our team at The Swan have had a hugely busy year and this is another great pat on the back before heading into the hectic festive season.”
He continued, “The Small Hotel of the Year award confirms that we have classic destination hotels to offer tourists visiting Southwold, enhancing its reputation as one of the most quintessentially British seaside escapes in the UK.”
The awards ceremony was held in The West Wing at Ickworth House, Horringer, near Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk on Thursday 18 October. The awards highlight the quality of the tourism industry in the eastern region (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk).
The Swan will be the East of England’s representative at the National Awards in April 2008.
