As it has a very different character to the standard Adnams beers, it must be a candidate for regular (or at worst seasonal) availability. Like one of the other correspondents I only found it at the Chelmsford beer festival, where it was my beer of the festival. Far more impressive than the other 2009-10 seasonal beers.

American IPA is (was ?) a wonderful beer. It was a real bonus to find it at the Chelmsford Camra Winter Beer Festival.
I really beleive that this is the best beer in the world range so far.
The aroma was not as intense as i thought it would be,
But on tasting the beer it has bags of beautiful citrus hop flavour.
And a very pleasant dryish bitter finish.
Overall a lovely balanced beer.

As i missed out coming to Southwold to try the American Style IPA,<br

Horse & Dray didn't get this one; nor Mustard Pot. Couldn't find it in Southwold; been and gone at The Star, Wenhaston.

Still trying to find it! Is there anyone in (or near) Norwich that has it?<br

It's a very good malting barley and gives a nice base but with the amount of hops we're putting in I wanted a bigger malt/biscuit flavour to balance it.

we are using spring barley (variety called Tipple). With Munich in the mix for some extra maltiness I'd assume you use Pearl Barley.

What sort of Pale malt do you use?<br
