Adnams Ghost Ship

Adnams Ghost Ship

Adnams Ghost Ship is part of our Seasonal Range available from May to October 2011. Now available all year round in bottles.

Ghost Ship is a ghostly pale ale which takes its inspiration from Adnams 600-year-old haunted pub, The Bell.

As well as having its own resident ghost, The Bell sits in one of England’s most haunted villages, Walberswick, where George Orwell famously spotted the spectre of a small stooping man, prompting a lifelong interest in ghosts. Walberswick’s shore is littered with the eerie wrecks of smuggling ships, much like the one on the pump clip. And just out to sea, now under the waves, lies the ghost town of Dunwich. Previously one of England’s biggest ports, Dunwich was washed out to sea in 1286.

Legend has it that the bells in the church tower can still be heard ringing on calm winter nights…

This beer has good assertive pithy bitterness with a malty backbone and a lemon and lime aroma. Brewed with some Pale Ale malt, Crystal malt, Munich and some Wheat malt. We use Columbus and Chinook hops and a new hop called Citra, responsible for adding great lime flavours.

stopped off for half a shandy at the Swan at Chappel, (I was driving!) even with the lemonade the flavour of the beer was delicious!

We are sorry to report that no pubs in the GU postcode area are stocking Ghost Ship on cask at this time. However, bottled Ghost Ship is available for home delivery by visiting our online store or by calling 01502 727222.

Another winner from Adnams; found this at their Woodbridge shop.  Anyone know if any pubs in the Guildford/Woking area have it?

    Hi Matt,
Thanks for letting us know that The Drapers Arms in Peterborough is now stocking Ghost Ship – they have placed orders for this and next week so it will be available for a little while longer (depending on how fast it sells!) We’re glad to hear that you are enjoying this beer – it will be available for a limited period in bottles shortly and we will announce this soon on our site.

Attention all beer drinkers of Peterborough!  Contrary to the comment from Sarah Howe, you CAN get Ghost Ship on tap in Peterborough.  Visited the Drapers Arms (behind the bus station) on Friday night to see a friend and was delighted to see that Wetherspoons had this on tap as one of their speciality beers. Not sure how much stock they bought so if you want a wonderful pint (before I drink the barrels dry) pop along.  And it is only £2.10 a pint.  You can’t go wrong.  By the way, when I can start to order Ghost Ship in bottles?

    loved it @GBBF!

Unfortunately we cannot find any pubs in Peterborough serving Ghost Ship. The nearest pubs we could find serving it were in Cambridge. If this is not too far then your best bet is to try Castle Inn, Castle Street, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire CB3 0AJ.

    Hello

Already posted a comment regarding a lovely evening I spent in an old haunt in Holland Park last autumn when I came across this amazing beer….are there any pubs in Peterboroough that have this on tap, do you know?
