Adnams Tally Ho – soon to be bottled

An old Tally Ho bottle

An old Tally Ho bottle

After a bottling break of around 10 years, we’re bottling our winter beer Tally Ho. We’re brewing it now so that it’s available in bottle in December. Here’s my tasting notes:

“Tally Ho is a limited edition Barley wine style beer, brewed at Adnams since 1880. It is a dark Mahogany red in colour with a rich, fruity aroma and a heart-warming sweet raisin and biscuit palate. Brewed and bottled once a year, each year’s vintage will be unique and can be laid down like a fine wine. This beer will have natural sediment, as it is bottle conditioned.”

Keep an eye on the blog for further details later in the month. It should be available in our stores and in selected outlets by December.

Well, I`ve just sampled a bottle of the famous Tally Ho after picking up a crate this morning (Christmas Eve) , and boy was it worth the wait! Congratulations to the brewing team and all involved for their efforts in bringing this deserved Champion ale to the the sales till on such a festive day. I will certainly enjoy today`s sampling.
    Seasons greetings to all.

Thanks Sean, I have asked my local store to call me. Will it be on draught also? If so can you tell me where I find out which local pubs will get some.

    Thanks again

In Southwold this week, we come the same time every year. Is the Tally Ho going to be available on draught this week? Shame we are going to miss the bottles can we pop round the brewery for a sample?

Thanks for your comment. The new design is similar to the old bottle – hopefully you will like it just as much. Will post the picture very soon. Tally Ho bottles will be available via mail order from 2nd week of December. Teresa
